Hi,
For those of you who know me well and are unaware of this undertaking, I'm sure the main emotions you are feeling now are shock, turning gradually to amusement, settling finally on a slightly creepy Schadefreude.
I am not the man who never ran for a bus. I am the man who would use having to run for the bus as an excuse to have a cigarette and wait for the next bus.
The smoking stopped on February 1st, with the running starting a few months later. This 10K was the next logical step. When I say logical I mean ridiculous and ill-thought, but it is definitely a step. I've even quit booze to help channel the natural athlete within, and there is sibling rivalry involved too with my brother lining up alongside me.
Not that it needs to be said but It's a good cause too, so whether you're emotionally blackmailing me via the weight of expectation expressed through pounds and pence, or doing your (clearly much more lazy) bit for the charity, dig deep yeah?
Some blurb from them:
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It?s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cancer Research UK gets your money faster and, if you?re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
