My personal message:

Dear all

I'm running a 10k on Sunday in aid of Cancer Research UK and I'm hoping you'll sponsor me.  I can't promise I'll romp home with a record-breaking time but I can promise I'll do my very best and give it my all.

It's a brilliant cause and well worthy of support so please give what you can.  It won't take a minute!
