Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
You may be thinking ?Have I got the right Russell Banfield?? You all know me, and the last time I ran more than 10 metres was to catch last orders at the pub, so a 10K run is a big thing for me.
I was duped into signing up for this on the premise it was a "Charity Fun Run?. It was only when informed it was actually 10K that I realised the gravity of the situation. I thought about pulling out until I realised the run was in aid of Cancer Research. It was then I knew I had better go and buy a pair of running shoes!
As I said, this is for a very good cause, so I would very much appreciate you all putting your hands in your pockets and sponsoring me.
UPDATE
Just thought you might be interested how I did on Sunday. I ran the 10K in 53 mins 14 seconds! This far exceeded my expectations. I did have a time of an hour at the back of my mind, but didn't think I would come close. I'm sure a few of you had your doubts that I would even make it round without stopping!
I've been told that this is a pretty good time, especially for a first time runner like myself. The hard work I put into the training paid off! I may even stick with this this running lark!! Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It?s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cancer Research UK gets your money faster and, if you?re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
