Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Firstly I wanted to extend my thanks to everyone who supported Vikki and I in our 5K race at the beginning of July. It was a real challenge for us and we throughly enjoyed ourselves on the day. Anyone who has doen the race for life before will know how amanzing the feeling is when you cross the finishing line, it is such an emotional day with many of the racers doing it as a rememberance or celebration of survival.
Crazy as it seem we haven't had enough yet and have signed up to the 10K on 26th September in Tatton Park. I wouldn't usually send out my sponcorship page until nearer the time but I am starting to get cold feet and feel I need something to give me the drive not to give in.
I am sure everyone is aware of what cancer research has done, btu I wanted to highlight to you what your money can do for cancer research;
- £10 could buy around 330 glass slides for studying cells and tumour samples in detail under the microscope.
- £125 could fund one cancer information nurse for a day. Our experienced cancer information nurses provide a confidential service for anyone with concerns about cancer.
- £500 could cover around a month's running expenses for a clinical trial investigating a new way of giving hormone therapy to improve the treatment of prostate cancer.
- £1,000 could cover the cost of collecting samples from 20 people with bowel cancer involved in research that may predict which treatments patients would respond to better.
Any support you can give will be greatfully receiced
