10k COMPLETED....THANK-YOU EVERYONE!!!

As you may have read in the West Briton, I wasn't able to take part in the 10k at Lanhydrock. I have, however, just completed the 6.2 miles on a treadmill in the gym at Pendra Loweth.

A big thank you to everyone who has sponsored me and encouraged me to keep going. I actually did it...haha.

Introduction
Well, having been inspired by my brilliant girlfriend, Janine Oates, who ran the 5k at the Eden Project, I've decided to run the 10k at Lanhydrock...yes, you're right, I am nuts! At the time of writing this, I am pretty unfit and haven't been to a gym in months....

Why are you doing it then?
In March 2005 I was diagnosed with testicular cancer. I beat the bugger the same year and am now happy and healthy, albeit slightly (very) unfit...!!! So, after watching my girlfriend run for me at Eden, I've decided to run this event. To be honest, if I can survive 5 months of constant chemotherapy and two pretty big operations, I can train myself to run 10,000 meters...I hope!!!

£1000, that's a massive target!
Yes, it's a bit of a high target...but so is trainning to run 10k in just over two months. I don't have a choice about trainning now, I have to do it, otherwise I won't complete the course. You do have a choice about sponsoring me....I just hope you choose to do so. Please give as much as you like and I'll promise to you and myself that I'll run my heart out for Cancer Research....together we really will beat cancer...!!!
